What Causes Severe Morning Sickness In Women

Severe morning sickness in women is often referred to as hyperemesis gravidarum (HG). While the exact cause is not fully understood, several factors may contribute to the development of severe morning sickness: Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG): This hormone is produced during pregnancy, particularly in the early stages. Elevated levels of hCG are associated with morning sickness. Some women may be more sensitive to these hormonal changes, leading to more severe symptoms. Estrogen Levels: Changes in estrogen levels during pregnancy may also play a role. High levels of estrogen are thought to contribute to nausea and vomiting.
